Prelim Evaluation

When we first started the prelim it was quite hard to make sure we included all of the different types of filming. We had to include Shot reverse Shot, Match on Action, 180 degree rule and Continuity editing. Once we had watched a few examples we knew what we had to do and began doing it quite easily and it was fun making it and putting it together. When we had downloaded all of the clips on to the computer and had to start editing we found it a little bit confusing and then once we had used a few of the tools on the editing website it was quite straight forward and we finished it quickly.

Video prelim 

Shot reverse shot (or shot/countershot) is a film technique where one character is shown looking at another character (often off-screen), and then the other character is shown looking back at the first character.

Match on Action is cutting on action or matching on action refers to film editing and video editing techniques where the editor cuts from one shot to another view that matches the first shot's action.

180 degree rule: In film making, the 180-degree rule is a basic guideline regarding the on-screen spatial relationship between a character and another character or object within a scene.

Continuity editing: The above definitions are examples of continuity editing. They are all used to give the viewer the impression that the film world is similar to the real world.
